In Kabbalah, we don't just "say" a name; we "activate" it like a piece of technology to achieve a specific result.
To make any Name work, we have to "turn it on" using a process called a Yihud (a spiritual braiding or union). We'll use Vav-He-Vav as an example.
Step 1: The Power Source (Impregnation): You take the Name Vav-He-Vav and "braid" it with the Name Ehieh (א-ה-י-ה), which represents the highest source of Divine Light. You alternate the letters like braiding hair (one from Ehieh, then one from the first Name). This "impregnates" the Name with energy.
Step 2: The Receiver (Insemination): Once the Name is charged with light, you "plant" it into the physical world by braiding it with the Name Adonay (א-ד-נ-י). This ensures the energy actually reaches your body and your life events.
In the "Divine engineering" of Kabbalistic meditation, the Heart, Brain, and Kidney (often referred to in Hebrew as Lev, Moaj, and Kaved) are the physical "receivers" or vessels that process the spiritual energy we draw down.
According to the teachings of the Zohar and the lineage of the Arizal, the energy must pass through three specific centers to be fully integrated into our reality:
